Register Now for the 3rd Annual Summer Smash Tournament & Summer Play at Blackwell Hub
You are in luck! SLPC has a healthy number of voluteer Mentors who are willing to work with you to help learn the game, or develop new skills.
Members who are seeking a Mentor Opportunity are to do the following:
Seek out other members with similar skills/needs to form a group of preferably 3 or 4 players
Review the Mentor Profiles (see below) to look for a good match to your needs
One person in the group is to reach out to the selected Mentor to arrange for a mutually agreeable time slot
The Mentor will book the Training Event in Court Reserve – note the following:
Members will get charged their regular court fees
There will also be an additional $5 fee per player that will be charged automatically through Court Reserve
The Mentors do not get paid; all funds collected for training go to the Club
Individual New Players can contact Barb Atsalinos directly (barbatsalinos@gmail.com) to arrange for two Learn to Play sessions
With consideration for Mentor and court resources, our preference is working with groups of 3 or 4, however we will permit a moderate number of bookings for 1 or 2 players who are interested in skills/drills. As with all small-number sessions, bookings can only be made within 24 hours of the reservation. The additional fee will be $10 for these sessions.
When you participate in a Mentor Session, you will leave with different skills and/or strategies that you should work on over the next few weeks.
As such, we ask that you wait at least 4 weeks before participating in a subsequent Mentor Session.
Please recognize that the mentors are volunteers and they need to balance their mentoring time with their own play, as well as other commitments.
