We are a proud Not-for-Profit organization run by the members, for the members. At the heart of our vibrant pickleball community is a shared passion for the sport, active living, and staying connected.
Our club is guided by a dedicated, volunteer-led Board of Directors and kept moving forward through the energy and talent of our members. From organizing tournaments and social events to maintaining court play and player development, our member-driven committees are the engine behind everything we do.

Consists of min 4 and max 9 Directors
Have at a minimum the following roles: Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary
Liaise with or serve on committees
Set and operate within By-Laws
Have signing authority on all SLPC contracts. All contractual obligations require Board approval
Adhere to all expenditure policies (expenditures are the responsibility of the Board)
Run operational meetings at a minimum quarterly, and with more frequency as required
Hold official meeting annually, following the AGM
Oversee and take responsiblity for communications with committees, members and third parties
Develop and adhere to strategic and future planning, determining when and how membership approval is required
Plan, communicate, facilitate and run the Annual General Meeting
Monitor, reconcile bank
Serve as primary contact for bank
Maintain control over expenditures
Prepare monthly and annual financials
Report on financials to Board and membership
Complete financial projections and budget
Meet government and regulatory reporting (e.g. HST)
Liaise with external accounting and legal
Be chaired by the Board Treasurer and may include at a maximum 4 club members
Set as its primary responsibility the safeguarding of assets, cash and ensuring SLPC spending is in accordance with membership direction
Report on all financial matters in a timely and transparent basis
Create policy guidelines for all expenditures and processes affecting the financial health of the organization
Ensure the organization meets all regulatory and financial mandates
Communicate resolutions to external legal parties
Coordinate and oversee review/compilation with external accounting firm
Report on all financial matters to membership at AGM and throughout the year as required
Create sponsorship programs
Liaise with community for sponsorships
Research and apply for grants
Monitor grant applications and report on outcomes
Be chaired by the Board Treasurer and may include at a maximum 4 club members
Create sponsorship packages and programs
Maintain contact with parties providing sponsorship funding, ensuring obligations are met and pursue renewal when appropriate
As directed, oversee special campaigns for funding for special requirements
Conduct ongoing research on grant opportunities with government or other bodies to evaluate the fit with the club
As appropriate, complete applications for grants, liaise with government or other external organization or contact regarding such application and outcome
Report to Board outcome of applications and opportunities
Manage expenditures in line with budget provided on an annual basis
Includes Safety & Health sub-committee
Includes Facility Upkeep Subcommittee responsible for Housekeeping & Maintenance (inside and outside, all facilities used by club)
Coordinates services with 3rd parties
Consist of one chair, two sub-committee chairs and additional volunteers as needed
Oversee two ongoing sub-committees covering safety and health as well as facilities upkeep at any facilities that are used for club activities
Ensure ongoing maintenance of facilities is within the budget set by the Board at the beginning of each year
Work to resolve issues, some which may require coordinating, scheduling and supervision of third-party providers
Coordinate scheduling of any maintenance work with other committees
Ensure facilities are clean, and identify and resolve issues where minor fixing or repairs are required (either by club volunteer or facility owner)
Identify issues of breakage requiring major fixes to the Board
Ensure all safety and health guidelines are followed
Will ensure the funding for all activities are under the annual and/or social event budget
Plan and coordination club social activities, including booking of social functions and ensuring appropriate set up
Work closely with other committees as and when events are to take place while managing the social component
Chaired by Board member and consists of a maximum of 10 club volunteers - with other volunteers added for event specific tasks
Adhere to the annual budget and/or budget for each event will be provided by the Board for social events, with most actual events being initiated by Communications and Events Committee
Ensure that events are scheduled, organized and communicated to all club members and other individuals or parties as appropriate
Work closely with other Committees since many social events may coincide with other events (e.g. tournaments, meetings, celebrations)
Initiation and monitoring of renewal campaigns
Address issues raised members in a timely manner
Report on membership data, profile
Maintain and oversee the database and ensures all systems are synced with active members of the club
Maintain list of volunteers and coordination of assignments with other committees
Chaired by Board member and consists of a maximum of 10 club volunteers
Serve as the primary contact for members on issues and identifies the appropriate resolution process
Create a master volunteer list, with names of volunteers and area of interest or expertise
Encourage active membership and involvement in club activities
Monitor renewals and non-renewals, reporting this to the board, and monitor the database and player status list to ensure it is up to date
Oversee the onboarding of new members, and act as ambassadors to new members
Ensuring fair and effective program allocation to available court time
Administrator role on court reservation systems
Scheduling of clinics for player development, coordinating effort with volunteers
Monitor of rating system, address issues, updating of ratings for individuals as requested and validated
Chaired by Board member and consists of a maximum of 5 club volunteers
Schedule club-play programs at respective facilities, addressing areas where interest is low and initiate changes aimed at optimizing court utilization while ensuring fair court assignments based on appropriate ratings
Serve as administrator on court reservation system , making changes based upon committee recommendations
Identify needs and schedule clinics for player development from learn to play to advanced instruction, ensuring appropriate volunteers are involved in training
Identify and respond to issues with ratings, using up to date ratings systems
Schedule any league play and any other formats, and create process for participants to follow
Coordinates efforts among sub-committees as appropriate
Oversees all communication efforts for the club
Will be provided with a budget for each tournament or other event
Administration, structure and organization of tournaments, special pickleball play events or other extraordinary occasions
Organizes prizes, awards and give aways
Coordinate efforts with Facilities, Court Play & Performance, Fundraising, Membership and Social Committees
Oversees and coordinates efforts of other parties for communications including (but not limited to) social media, newsletters and website
Manage of tournaments or other extraordinary events by scheduling, organizing and coordinating work by other committees, including prizes, awards and/or giveaways, within financial budget limitations
Work with Fundraising Committee on incremental financial support
Work with Facilities Committee to ensure readiness and set up of facilities to meet event requirements
Work with Court Play Committee to set up schedule for events
Work with Social Committee for celebration or other related events
Work with Membership Committee to facilitate complete and effective communications to members
Currently there are no Ad Hoc committees formed.
